 THE MURF

There is just over 1 month left to qualify for the MURF MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT. To refresh everyone's memory (because we no longer have the original posts), you need at least 200 completed games (games that allow AI's do not count), must have at least a 1.0 rating in PPROI and WIN RATE, and must be rated no higher than 75th in any other category, in order to be qualified (you are allowed 1 exemption other than the 3 categories mentioned above).

The MURF Qualified list will now be removed and only the overall Murf stats page will be used. The only difference is that the Qualified list showed those with 200 games, at least a 1.0 in PPROI, and at least a 1.0 in WIN RATE. It did NOT take the entire list into consideration. That skews the numbers and confuses people as to their true ranking. It is just there from about June, until now, to give people an idea of where they stand. From this point on, the only list that will be valid is the full Murf list.

As stated at the bottom of every post I make, the Murf will be held on Sat. Dec. 19th (20th in Australia), and the starting time will be posted after Dec. 1st (when we know who qualifies and where they are from). The times may be a bit different depending on where the qualifiers are from.

I WILL BE POSTING THE FINAL LIST OF QUALIFIERS SOMETIME THE FIRST WEEK OF DECEMBER. UNLIKE LAST YEAR, I WILL BE ASKING THOSE THAT QUALIFY IF THEY ARE LIKELY TO PLAY. THIS WILL HELP DETERMINE THE ACTUAL START TIME OF THE GAME. PLEASE CHECK THIS POST FOR THE LIST.

 Re: THE MURF (ONE4TOOLS)

These people listed are those that are on the bubble of qualifying for the Murf, and what they need to improve on in order to qualify. Only those that have a realistic chance of improving are listed.

Attikus - PP ROI
Woody420 - PP ROI
Tman - PP ROI
pura_vida - PP ROI
ringer - PP ROI & PP ITM RATE
NostraDANus - PP ROI & PP ITM RATE
Mazel4 - PP ROI & PP ITM RATE
Flying Avanti - PP ROI & PP ITM RATE
800 feet under - PP ITM RATE
Bebop - PP ITM RATE

The key to improving is to get into the money in more games. That will fix both the ROI and the ITM. If you only need the ROI raised, you can place higher or win several games, and that should be enough, based on the number of games you have played so far.

 Re: THE MURF

It has been asked what the difference between the Murf and the Championship Series is. Here is the answer.

Qualification for the The Murf tournament takes into account almost ALL games played on DDPoker (except those with AI's and those under 4 players).

Qualification for the Championship Series ONLY takes into account the bigger games. You must qualify to play in the qualifying games. It narrows the field down even farther and is harder to qualify for.

The purpose of the Murf is to find out who the best tournament player, statistically, during the given year. The purpose of the Championship series is to show the best of the players that did the best in the big games.

Hi Tools,

Just wondering if the blind structure for The Murf will be the same as last year?

Thx in advance,
ER

 Re: THE MURF (EnigmaRiddle)

Unless everyone wants me to change it, I thought it worked pretty well last year. The game lasted around 5 - 6 hours. So I guess the answer is yes, unless something changes.
